About the Zine
'Behind the Curtains' is a digital fanzine featuring various Dandy's World artists, writers, and contributors to collaborate and create a visually appealing book or magazine of creative works. In deep appreciation for the game itself, we hope to tribute this fanzine to the makers of Dandy's World and give all credit of the characters to Blush Crunch Studios.We aim to create a lively team of artists to base our zine on one theme: a slice-of-life exploration of the toons in Gardenview.Our title being 'behind the curtains' hopes to imply this theme as well, as we hope to reveal our personal interpretations of these characters in a manner of casual—almost filler episode—renditions of art, writing, and more!
Rules and Guidelines
Rules
★ All applicants must be 14 or older in age. Leeway is given to those turning 14 within the timeframe of the zine.
★ Applicants must have at least one social media where art has been posted, as we would like to credit you or tag you in possible posts.
★ Proshippers/darkshippers are strictly prohibited. If any applicant is found to be such they will be immediately removed from consideration.
★ Bigotry of any kind is strictly prohibited. This includes—but not limited to—racism, anti-semitism, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, and more.
★ Applicants must provide an SFW link to their handle or any submission pieces.
★ Communication is required for the creation of this zine. All applicants must use Discord to be able to join our fanzine server and collaborate.
★ Contribution pieces may not be posted outside of this server nor leaked until explicit permission to do so. You will most likely have to wait until the final zinebook is finished and released to post it to your social medias/public view.Guidelines
Artists:
✦ We ask that you submit 2-3 pieces or more of your best work through a link or multiple links to either posts on social media, google drive, or a google slideshow. If google drive/slides are used, make sure to set the link to be viewed to anyone who HAS the link.
✦ Submissions must have at least one example of background art and at least one example of Dandy's World fanart.
✦ Cannot include NSFW references in submission pieces: visual renditions to sex, drugs, self-harm, etc.
✦ WE ARE LOOKING FOR: anatomy, background art (will be mandatory for illustration pieces), application of skills in their art. We are NOT actively looking for professionalism or a certain artstyle.Writers:
✦ Two examples are required for this position. We ask for any piece of fictional writing or excerpts to be between 500-1,000 words per piece.
✦ Submit through a link: Google Doc/Slide, AO3, and Wattpad.
✦ Cannot include NSFW references in submission pieces: references to sex, drugs, self-harm, etc.
✦ The zine word limit will be maximum 3,000 words. Keep this in mind when applying or pitching ideas.
✦WE ARE LOOKING FOR: grammar, strong characterization, and an understanding in narrative and flow.

We highly suggest being close to the original Dandy's World designs but smaller details (such as tails, skin patterns, fluff, etc) are completely fine!Is shipping allowed?
Unfortunately, character shipping is strictly prohibited. This zine's purpose focuses on platonic relationships and friendships, not romance!Will contributors be picked on follower count?
Nope! Everyone has an equal chance of getting in unless you have been personally invited as a guest.Can contributors post their pieces early?
